Motorcyclist killed in freak accident after hitting a wooden plank on the PIE

Less than a day after the horrific accident in Woodlands, another motorcyclist was killed in a fatal collision with a car along the Pan Island Expressway (PIE) this morning.

At 7:25am today, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) deployed an ambulance to the incident at PIE near the Dunearn Road exit, where paramedics pronounced a 31-year-old man dead at the scene.

According to various reports, it is believed that the motorcyclist had been riding along the expressway when he hit a wooden plank on the road. He lost control of the bike and was flung over to the other side of the expressway, where a car ran over him.

Investigations are currently ongoing.
