Motorcyclist dead in 4-vehicle accident at PIE yesterday morning

A three-hour-long traffic jam along the Pan Island Expressway (PIE) had been caused by an accident involving a taxi, two cars and a motorcycle. 

Unfortunately, the 49-year-old motorcyclist was killed in the accident when he was pinned under a car. 

Various media reports say that the accident happened about 10.30am before the Eng Neo exit of the PIE towards Tuas. Dashcam footage of the incident was uploaded on the Beh Chia Lor Facebook page, showing how a yellow Comfort cab crashed hard into the motorcyclist from the rear.

Singapore Civil Defence Force rescuers had to utilise hydraulic tools to extricate his body from under the car. Reportedly a permanent resident from India, he was pronounced dead by paramedics on the spot. 

Police are investigating the incident.
