It’s one of the worst things ever that could happen to young parents — their child getting into an accident.
What makes it far more worse for the parents of this boy is that the person that caused the accident wasn’t too repentant about it, and he rode off without even leaving his contact details.
Such distress that young mother Kaslyn Tan felt, to the point where she turned to Facebook to help find the individual who hurt her child yesterday morning at Serangoon Park Connector. The story goes that her 3-year-old son was knocked down by an “extremely fast-riding cyclist”, who claimed that he could not stop because *drum roll* “his feet were clipped on”.
Tan’s husband, who was with the son during the accident, was said to have been too shocked by seeing his son violently knocked down in front of him. The worst part? The cyclist reluctantly gave $20, some tissue and water, as if that helped anything. He rode off without even leaving his contact number.
“My heart has been shattered into a million pieces, and an ambulance has come to fetch my son. He is in a state of shock, his mouth is currently severely swollen with torn lips, cuts and ulcers in his mouth, cut on his chin, tooth got knocked off upon impact with other shaky teeth present, saliva and blood dripping constantly uncontrollably, forehead and knee cap suffering from abrasions.”

Since the post went viral, the Singapore Police Force, the boy’s school, the National Parks Board as well as Aljunied GRC’s Member of Parliament Victor Lye. The boy himself is still suffering quite a bit though — he’s unable to eat, chew and has difficulties consuming liquids through a straw.
