The number of dengue cases in Orchard Road has increased from 22 to a whopping 86 as of Nov. 15, making it the second largest dengue cluster after Bedok.
Earlier this year, the shopping belt was listed inthe red zone category when officers discovered mosquito breeding spots in puddles at the Orchard Gateway site.
Lack of public education is believed to be one of the reasons why awareness and hence preventive measures are low amongst the public.
According to TODAY, the National Environment Agency (NEA) will be working with relevant parties to educate the public and step up efforts in inspecting the area.
