More families are planning to have their Lunar New Year reunion dinners at venues like hawker centres this year as compared to typical locations like restaurants and at home.
According to Channel NewsAsia, some of the perks a hawker centre offers are the comfort of enjoying a good dinner without having to adhere to any timing, the relatively low prices and the wider range of food options.
Customers dining out at a hawker centre will also save the trouble of cooking at home and are not binded by a fixed menu of a restaurant.
Hawkers are responding to the increasing demands by offering Lunar New Year-exclusive dishes like yu sheng and pen cai during the festive period.
