More places caught rat-handed

The National Environment Agency (NEA) will be extending its Rat Attack Programme to more places such as Joo Chiat, Arab Street and Jalan Besar.

According to TODAY, around 20 business owners at Arab Street and Chinatown area were complaining that rats are frequently spotted along drains behind mainly food stores. Some have even attempted to catch these rats by making their own traps.

Under the Rat Attack Programme, intensive measures such as trapping, surveillance and research will be conducted by the NEA in chosen public places with many food establishments to identify the rat sources.

Earlier this year, Potong Pasir also enjoyed its fair share of rats until Member of Parliament Mr. Sitoh Yih Pin called for help to eradicate the rodent infestation.
