More arrested for using Spider-Man trail to bypass Malaysian immigrations checkpoint

A secret route regularly utilised by Malaysians working in Singapore to beat the daily peak hour jam — which effectively bypasses the Johor checkpoint — has become place for stakeout for the Johor Immigration Department, and they recently managed to nab another 14 men for using the trail.

According to AsiaOne, the operation yesterday morning saw the arrest of 14 men, including a Singaporean, who were caught red-handed exiting the country illegally using the trail people have termed the ‘Spider-Man’ route.

By doing so, they were able to beat both the morning traffic jam and the queues at the Johor Customs, Immigration and Quarantine complex  (CIQ), without getting their passports stamped at the Malaysian checkpoint.

Prior to this operation, officers had already apprehended 37 other pedestrians who have been using the shortcut.
