On-demand private chauffeur Uber have released their UberX fleet in Singapore.
Before Uber, the only way for people to get around in the city was via public transport such as the train network and cabs. If you need a car to get around, cabs are convenient, but not perfect for occasions for which you need to glam it up.
Uber’s stylish mode of travel — sleek black cars you could book in advance or real-time — changed that.
Founded in 2009 in the United States, Uber provides on-demand private driver to anyone.
Need a private driver now? Simply launch the Uber app, select your pick up location, and a luxe car will be on its way to pick you up. You can also track where the driver is so that you are kept in the loop on his location.
The luxury experience comes with a cost though — a trip on the regular Uber Sedan is significantly more expensive than taking a taxi.
Here’s where UberX comes in.
The only thing that’s different with this version of the service is that instead of a black Mercedes S Class rolling up, your pick-up will be either a Toyota Camry or Corolla, hence the better affordability.
