More than 1,000 summonses issued since installing of new traffic cams in March

The Singapore Police Force reported last Sunday (May 25), that since its implementation of 30 new digital traffic red light camera systems on March 1, a total of 1,175 summons have been to issued to local motorists. 

These new digital cameras are on duty 24/7, and are placed in and around the following locations: Victoria Street, Lavender Street, Ophir Road, Holland Road, Commonwealth Avenue, Bukit Batok East, Bukit Panjang Ring Road, Jurong West, Tampines Avenues 1 and 5, Changi Road, Lornie Road, Adam Road, Ang Mo Kio Avenues 1 and 3, Yio Chu Kang Road by Jalan Kelulut, Upper Changi Road East by Xilin Avenue, Loyang Avenue by Pasir Ris Drive 1, Marymount Road by Thomson Road, Newton Road by Thomson Road, Sengkang East Drive by Sengkang East Avenue, Tampines Road by Hougang Avenue 1, Upper Thomson Road and Eunos Link by Airport Road.

By the first half of 2015, a total of 240 digital red light cameras will be installed island-wide. Those who run red lights will be fined from $200 (for light vehicles) to $230 (for heavy vehicles), and given 12 demerit points.
