MOH looking into forming Avengers-like taskforce of medical experts

Now Singapore will never need to worry about the horrors of a zombie outbreak or any similar tragedies — the Ministry of Health is looking into forming a national-level task force that can respond quickly to such incidents.

Minister of State for Health Chee Hong Tat mentioned the news earlier today at the launch of a commemorative book and video on infectious diseases at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, TODAY reports.

According to Chee, the “SWAT team”-like force could comprise experts from hospitals, universities and government agencies, and one that can be mobilised at short notice anytime after unusual disease outbreaks. So, sort of like an Avengers for medical professionals/elites.

The taskforce was set  up by the MOH in response to the hepatitis C outbreak in Singapore General Hospital, which has seen 25 patients infected without warning.
