You would think the leader of the free world would know his contemporaries, but think again.
Meet President Jokowi Widodo of Indonesia. This is what he looks like:
And now meet Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong of Singapore. We all know what he looks like because his family feud is all over the media:
But when U.S. President Donald Trump met PM Lee, you’d expect he’d know the difference between the two Asian leaders. Yet his Instagram post says otherwise.
His earlier caption reads: “President Trump and the President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo speaking before the start of their bilateral at the #G20Summit in Hamburg, Germany. #USA” Of course, don’t forget #USA and the American flag.
WATCH: Just PM Lee being uncomfortable around President Trump in their first face-to-face meeting
People were quick to point out that that’s actually PM Lee of Singapore.
As of posting, Trump’s Instagram post has been edited to reflect the correct identity of the man sitting across from him. But those comments still show the error from earlier’s mistaken identity.
New caption reads: “President Trump speaking with Prime Minister of Singapore, Lee Hsien Loong. Before the start of their bilateral meeting” with a link to the prior bilateral meeting.
