On Sunday (June 25) afternoon, the police were alerted to a case of a missing man at 3D River Valley Road. The 27-year-old had allegedly fallen into the waters outside Hot Stones restaurant near Read Bridge at Clarke Quay, and it is believed that his family called the police around 3pm on Sunday when they discovered he had not returned home.
Search operations were ongoing yesterday, as the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) received a call for help at 4:25pm and dispatched a fire engine, an ambulance and three support vehicles. The SCDF conducted a surface search along Singapore River using a private operator’s boat, while two divers from the SCDF’s Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team carried out underwater search operations in the vicinity, but to no avail.
According to The Straits Times, the SCDF stated it was still carrying out search operations at 11pm yesterday. The search continues today.
