The Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore (MINDS) is set to open their fifth and biggest day activity centre, which will be able to serve 100 clients, twice the number of clients currently being serviced in their other centres.
The two-storey building at 11 Jalan Ubi opening in four to six months’ time will house an activity centre, a soup kitchen and a rehab facility for ex-offenders and people suffering from addictions.
The new MINDS centre may also introduce work therapy, on top of the existing social and recreational ones, as well as new carefiver programmes.
As with the Tampines centre, MINDS’ later addition will accept both part-time and full-time clients.
