‘The Messiah’ rejects court’s offer to proceed on half his drug charges

‘The Messiah’, or 35-year-old James Raj Arokiasamy, has rejected the prosecution’s offer to proceed on two of four drug consumption charges made against him.

The other two charges would be taken into consideration if he pleaded guilty.

James Raj was said to have been running from the authorities for his drug crimes when he had supposedly defaced the website of the Ang Mo Kio Town Council on Oct. 28, 2013.

Defence lawyer M. Ravi said that James Raj would have antecedents if he took up the prosecution’s offer, despite the prosecution insisting this would not prejudice Mr. Ravi’s client.

James Raj has also been linked to the theft of information belonging to 650 Standard Chartered private banking clients, which was found on his laptop. This matter, along with hacking cases related to the People’s Action Party (PAP) Community Foundation and The Straits Times websites, are currently under investigation.

Said Mr. Ravi, his client is waiting for approval for his application to have his ATM card returned to him so he can pay his legal fees.
