McDonald’s phases out styro packaging for breakfast meals

This deserves a happy meal.

McDonald’s Singapore has phased out ozone layer-depleting styrofoam packaging for breakfast meals like Big Breakfast and Hotcakes in favor of paper packaging, reports The Straits Times.

That’s great news in a city that disposed of 789,000 tonnes of plastics in 2014!

McD’s decision was influenced by an online petition launched in January by a 38-year-old music conductor and his friend. It got 700 supporters.
