Marina Mandarin staff fired for questioning pay on Facebook

A former part-time cook at Marina Mandarin revealed on Reddit he was “banned” from working after he had commented on the hotel’s Facebook page about his pay. Here’s his original post:

Several users gave their two cents worth — some said the hotel deserved to be named and shamed in public and others thought the 17-year-old should accept the dismissal for putting his own company in a bad light. Later, ‘derpymarc’ revealed the contents of a letter he had apparently sent to the human resource department of Marina Mandarin:

When contacted, a member of the Marina Mandarin human resource department said, “the case is closed so I don’t see a need for you to continue pursuing this” and refused to explain further.
