Man takes advantage of 13-year-old runaway girl and sexually assaults her in Marsiling

A young man appeared in court to face the music for having sex with a 13-year-old girl — 11 years his junior.

23-year-old Mohammad Noor Mohammad Ali pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a minor back in February, which could land him up to 10 years in jail and/or a fine, Channel NewsAsia reports.

The two had met in a group chat on WhatsApp late last year, before Noor started sending messages to the girl directly.

Through Noor was initially blocked, Noor returned to hound the girl as soon as he was unblocked on Feb 10, pestering her to meet up with him. With plans to run away from home due to family problems, the girl agreed.

They met at Marsiling MRT station before heading over to a HDB block nearby to have sex.

A couple of days later, Noor wanted to meet up again — but she declined, claiming that she was at the police station. The angered young man threatened to “do something” to her should he be arrested.

It was a week later during a police investigation into her disappearance from home that the girl admitted to having sex with the 23-year-old lecher. Noor will face his sentencing on Sep 7.
