Drugs — not even once, amirite? Already under investigation for consumption of controlled drugs and driving under the influence of drugs, a 24-year-old man got himself in deeper trouble when he tried to run away after a traffic accident. Oh, and he even had time to flip the bird at police officers while fleeing.
Lianhe Wanbao reported this weird episode that transpired at the junction of Admiralty Road and Riverside Road on Monday morning. After his grey Honda allegedly collided into the back of a lorry at the junction, the driver started lashing out in the middle of providing his statement to the traffic police.
As he ran away, he made sure to flash his middle fingers to the four cops chasing him. It would have been kinda badass if he managed to lose the policemen, but he was subdued after running for half a kilometre.
Unfortunately, the man wasn’t going down without a fight — he allegedly resisted and punched one of the officers as he was being arrested.
He will be charged for voluntarily causing hurt to deter a public servant from his duty — a charge that could land him seven years in jail, as well as a fine or caning if convicted.
