A man is currently receiving treatment at Tan Tock Seng Hospital after he got knocked down by a car during an alleged attempt to cross a section of the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) on foot.
Life pro tip: Don’t cross expressways on foot.
It’s unknown why the man apparently did so, and the driver of the vehicle that hit him is now looking for witnesses to help him understand the sequence of events. The driver — a 21-year-old man named Glendolph Chua — went on Facebook to post about the incident that occured on Sunday morning along the PIE towards Tuas, right before the Thomson exit.
Claiming to have been on the way to school for a mid-term test, Chua had been driving at about 80 km/h in his Suzuki Swift on the first lane when he first spotted a man walking into his path.
“I honked him but he still continued walking and I jammed my brakes and swerve to the right causing him to impact on the left side of my car,” he wrote.
The impact caused quite a dent to the front of Chua’s car.

Unfortunately, Chua didn’t install a dash cam to record how the collision transpired (life pro tip #2: everyone should have one in their vehicle). The young man’s currently appealing for witnesses to aid in the ongoing police investigations into the case.
