Man extorted $197k and nearly $52k of luxury items from male married teacher he had sex with

Fearing his whole life crumbling before his eyes, a teacher here had no choice but to accede to the demands of a man he had an affair with — to the point that his entire life savings were depleted.

The blackmailer — 35-year-old Ng Hian Gee Vincent — has since pleaded guilty in court to extorting a whopping $197,000 in cash and other luxury items from the victim, TODAY reports.

The 45-year-old married teacher had suffered for about six months having his savings “gouged out”. If he didn’t pay up, Ng threatened to expose their trysts to the Ministry of Education and his school.

Both of them had met online in late 2013, and had sex in the victim’s house, after he invited Ng over. Ng was asked to leave later on as the teacher felt uncomfortable.

It was only later on that Ng found out he was a teacher, and soon demanded large amounts of cash as “compensation”, threatening to expose him. From September 2013 to March 2014, the victim forked out $197,000 in cash and luxury goods worth $51,900, including a Rolex watch, a gold chain and Chanel bags.

A police report was eventually made when the victim was “at his wit’s end”. So far, Ng was only able to provide restitution of $24,000 (he gambled most of the money away) and has returned some luxury goods to the victim.

Ng now faces up to seven years’ jail and caning for a count of extortion, while seven other similar charges will be taken into consideration come sentencing on Feb 15.
