After last week’s Boon Tat Street stabbing made the headlines, another incident involving knives occurred at a coffee shop in Teck Whye on Wednesday (Jul 12) — one man was seen wielding two knives during a dispute between three men.

The incident happened at Blk 143 Teck Whye Lane, at approximately 7:40pm, according to The Straits Times.

A video of the incident was uploaded on social media, and the man could be seen holding on to one knife with each hand while being restrained by two other men, who were possibly patrons of the coffee shop. Another man was spotted trying to pry the knives out of his hands, which were covered in blood. Harsh words were exchanged during the altercation.

Another man was seen sitting down with his shirt covered in blood.

The police received a call for help around 7:39pm. A 34-year-old man was arrested for criminal intimidation and possession of offensive weapons. A 61-year-old man — believed to be the dude seen calmly prying a knife from the man — was also arrested for failing to provide his personal particulars to police.

A 66-year-old man, the one seated and bloodied in the video, was conscious and taken to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital by an ambulance dispatched by the Singapore Civil Defence Force.

Apparently, the three men were having drinks when the 34-year-old went off after a dispute among the trio and returned with knives.

The 66-year-old victim tried to stop him, but the assailant came back with a plastic chair and hit him.

Police investigations are ongoing.
