How far would you go to show your love for Singapore? For Afiq Syazani, it’s exactly 75.4 kilometers — the distance he cycled around the middle of the island just to draw a shape of a lion head on Strava, a GPS-powered social app that maps your workouts.
A day before the country’s 53rd birthday, Afiq got on his Strida Evo two-wheeler and spent hours cycling a route that took him to places such as Balestier, Bishan, Ang Mo Kio and MacRitchie Reservoir. The end result? A rough outline of Singapore’s lion head symbol plastered in the middle of the island. No easy feat, either, considering that he was riding a collapsible bike with small wheels.

Blogger and satirist mrbrown pointed out that Afiq even crafted his path to make it seem like MacRitchie Reservoir was spewing out of the lion head, a familiar sight with the Merlion statues.
Afiq Syazani is our cycling hero this National Day. He rode 75.4 KM, over 7 hours, on a 3-speed Strida Evo to make this Lion Head.
He even made it look like the reservoir is water coming out of the lion’s mouth.
I salute you, good sir. #NDP #NDP18 #NDP2018 #stravaArt pic.twitter.com/HAudd7T6VH
