Man charged for breaking into Holland Grove home

On Monday, a 33-year old man was arrested for his suspected involvement in a burglary case in the Holland Grove neighbourhood.

On Aug. 2, the police received a report regarding a break-in at a private residence, where cash and watches amounting to more than $2,500 were said to be missing.

Officers from Clementi Police Division nabbed the suspect in Geylang on Aug. 4 at about 4:30pm.

Preliminary investigations by the Police Intelligence Department revealed that the suspect broke into the residential unit by climbing over a boundary wall and forcing open a sliding door.

Cash amounting to about $5,000, 20 watches, one screwdriver and a pair of gloves were found in the suspect’s possession.

The suspect was charged in court yesterday for the Housebreaking and Theft by Night under Section 457 of the Penal Code.
