An operation launched by the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) on Wednesday saw the arrest of one suspected drug trafficker and an assortment of drugs seized from him.
The 48-year-old man was arrested at Woodlands Checkpoint in on Wednesday morning, where they found him carrying a haversack filled with an array of drugs. Various tools and gadgets — suspected to be used for making improvised drug smoking apparatus — were also recovered.
A raid of his residence along Holland Close was also carried out, were a large quantity of meth and other narcotics were found and seized, along with numerous empty plastic sachets, glass apparatus and a digital weighing scale.
From the operation, a total of 1,270g of meth, 183g of ketamine, 134g of synthetic cannabis, 257 Erimin-5 tablets and seven Ecstasy tablets were confiscated.
If convicted, the man may very well face the death penalty. Investigations into his drug trafficking activities are ongoing.
