Some people can be very precious about their sleep.
Take, for example, this 27-year-old man who was found counting zzzs inside a taxi when police responded to a call from a taxi driver along Choa Chu Kang Avenue 3 on the early morning of Sep 15.
When police woke him up, he started shouting vulgarities at them. Despite repeated warnings to stop, the man persisted and assaulted one of the officers.
The man was subsequently arrested and will be charged at the State Courts today. Get the man some kopi oh, he’ll need it.
For causing hurt to a public servant, he could be sentenced to jail for up to seven years plus a fine, caning, or any combination of such punishments. For insulting a public servant, he could be jailed up to 12 months plus a fine not exceeding S$5,000 or both.
