Man accused in headless woman murder gets discharge but faces two new charges

Two years ago, the decapitated body of beautician Jasvinder Kaur was found wrapped in a trash bag and floating in the Whampoa River between McNair Road and St George’s Road.

A 26-year-old forklift driver by the name of Gursharan Singh was quickly apprehended and charged with her ghastly murder. In court today, he was issued a discharge not amounting to an acquittal, The Straits Times reports.

However, he won’t be walking away that easily — the prosecution tendered two new charges against the Indian national for causing evidence of a murder offence to disappear and failing to report the offence to a police officer.
