It seems like Singapore no longer has to worry about the depleting supply of fresh chickens as a major supplier announced that Malaysia’s export ban has been partially lifted.

Kee Song Group will resupply certain birds like black chickens and Kampong chickens to the city from today onward. They will also be available at wet markets tomorrow.

“The wait is over! We’re having Fresh Chicken tomorrow onwards!” the supplier said in a TikTok posted last night.

“Malaysia export [ban] has been lifted for Live Black Chicken & Kampong Chicken to Singapore,” the caption read.

It has only been about two weeks since Malaysia stopped exporting fresh chickens to Singapore due to months of supply issues and rising prices. Since then, Singaporeans have swept market shelves of fresh chickens, leading officials to reassure the poultry-hungry masses that there were plenty of frozen chickens on hand.

The ban also created a frenzy among trolls who listed chickens for millions on Carousell.

Singapore imports about 34% of its chicken from Malaysia and gets others from Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, and the United States.
