The woman accused of trespassing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) compound on Jan. 20 will be represented by a lawyer arranged by the Malaysian High Commission.
Malaysian teacher Nurul Rohana was moved to Changi Women’s Prison from the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) last week, where a psychiatric evaluation found her to be of unsound mind and therefore unfit to make a plea in the court.
She will be represented by lawyer Abraham Vergis pro bono through the criminal legal aid scheme.
27-year-old Rohana faces one count of criminal trespass and two more charges for evading immigration clearance when she entered Singapore through the Woodlands Checkpoint on Jan. 17.
Rohana’s next court date is scheduled for March 14.
