Clearly not aware that there was nothing to grain from previous (and failed) attempts, a Malaysian man was busted when he tried entering the Singapore border with packets of contraband cigarettes hidden in a hollowed-out loaf of bread.

While passing through Woodlands Checkpoint last Saturday, the man’s smuggling attempt was dashed after Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) officers wised up to his antics. A loaf of bread placed in the basket of his motorcycle was found hollowed-out with five packets of duty-unpaid cigarettes concealed within. Aw, crumbs.

An additional packet was found in the padding of his helmet.

The man was handed over to Singapore customs for further investigations. If convicted, he’ll have to hustle for the dough — it’ll be $200 fine per packet if it’s his first offence.
