The maid who worked for the elderly couple found murdered in their flat along Bedok Reservoir Road is believed to have fled Singapore for an Indonesian island.
The Straits Times reports that she is considered a suspect in the double murder case, where a 79-year old man and his 78-year old wife were found motionless in two different rooms of their flat on Wednesday afternoon. At least one of the victims had injuries on the neck, and police have seized three knives from the rubbish chute.
Believed to be from Indonesia, the domestic helper had only been living and working with the couple for a month prior to the incident. According to Shin Min Daily News, she reportedly went to Harbourfront Centre to get a ticket for the first available boat out of Singapore. She either took the ferry to Batam or Tanjung Balai on Great Karimun Island.
Investigations are currently ongoing.
