According to a recent survey conducted by the Land Transport Authority (LTA), 98% of a 1,000-strong sample of commuters queue up to board the train, 96% move in to make space for those boarding and 94% give up their seat to those who need them more.
Yesterday, the LTA launched a series of posters and stickers in light of the Graciousness Programme 2013, designed to motivate train passengers to follow the example of the majority.
In announcement released two days ago, the LTA group director for Corporate Communications Tammie Loke said, “Many do make an effort to queue, move inside and give up their seat. We want to recognize the effort and remind commuters that we can do a lot to affect our own journeys and those of others when we are considerate.”
