Lorry smashed into taxi with a loud crash, five people taken to hospital

Debris, blood and glass smashed to smithereens — that was the aftermath of the collision between a white lorry and a blue ComfortDelgro taxi. As reported by The New Paper, the lorry driver was attempting to turn right when he ended up banging into the side of the cab.

The crash was deafening enough that two guys on the 22nd storey heard it. A destroyed front bumper and headlight was all the damage the lorry endured, while the taxi had a door dislodged and its entire right side slammed inwards.

The police said a call came in around 8.45pm on Sunday to inform them of the accident, which occurred at the junction of Boon Lay Way and Jurong Town Hall Road.

Around 50 people were crowding around the scene, with some taking pictures and others helping the victims. Of the five injured, three were female teens, one a middle-aged lady, and the other the taxi driver. They were all brought to the National University Hospital, while the lorry driver was arrested on the spot for suspected drunk driving.
