If you’ve ever missed a home delivery due to your busy work schedule, you’re well-acquainted with the feeling of frustration that follows. But logistics companies and delivery services are making things easier for people to pick up online purchases these days.
There’s Park N Parcel, a start-up that has about 500 users since it was established in January by a former stockbroker — basically, you can sign up for the $2.50 service and collect your packages at over 100 delivery addresses including retail shops, convenience stores, cafes and even your next door neighbor’s house.
Alternatively, if you’re the type who’s always home, you can even register to become a ‘parker’ and get paid $1 for each parcel that’s delivered to your address. How’s that for making money just by sitting around at home? And for those with trust issues, Park N Parcel does basic screenings of residential ‘parkers’ and users can review them online.
Other self-collection options include SingPost’s POPStations — which offer 143 locations for people to collect items from partner merchants such as Taobao, Uniqlo and Zalora — and Ninja Van’s Ninja Collect, a network of 20 lockers and 100 retail store collection points. Another service, bluPort by local logistics start-up blu, provides 41 locations for same-day self-collection of purchases from its retail partners.
Ordering stuff online and collecting it has never been so easy.
