Two Singaporean actors have won big at the Anugerah Bintang Popular (ABP) 2013 in Malaysia.
Veteran Aaron Aziz (top photo) bagged Most Popular Male Actor for the second time since 2011, while a relatively new arrival to the scene across the Causeway Shah Iskandar (photo below), picked up the award for Best TV actor.
Another Singaporean actor Adi Putra was nominated alongside Aaron in the Best Popular Male Actor category.

All these accolades have sparked Malaysian actor Zed Zaidi to sound out the awards again, after a relatively quiet 2012 round, when Malaysian actors won in both categories.
Zed took to social media mere moments after the results for 2013 were announced over the weekend, saying in Malay, “This TV station picks the same old people, from hosts and DJs to singers and actors. Are there not enough artists in Malaysia?”
Another post reads, “History has repeated itself. Should we be proud?”
Anyhow, felicitations are in order we think, for Aaron Aziz and Shah Iskandar — it’s not easy to win the hearts of your own critical countrymen, what more that of our more developed friends across the Causeway.
