As India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrapped up his Singapore stop today in a diplomatic visit and meet up with local leaders, a little restaurant in Little India got the stamp of approval from the leader.
Vegetarian restaurant Komala Vilas can expect a helluva lot more customers coming in soon — it’s where Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, his wife and Prime Minister Modi enjoyed idli, vadai, thosai and a medley of lassi for themselves.

According to The Straits Times, business went on as usual yesterday night on the second floor, but the first floor was only occupied by the VIPs throughout the meal. Security concerns, of course.
“He is also now probably the most famous person to dine at our restaurant, besides the Tamil stars who have tried our food,” said Komala Vilas’ operations director Rajakumar Gunasekaran, whose grandfather opened the eatery in 1947. “We are very proud.”
PM Modi stated to Rajakumar that he enjoyed the food, before taking a VIS (Very Important Selfie) together with his VIP dinner dates.

The Indian Prime Minister elevated ties with Singapore in a strategic partnership by signing a joint declaration, as well as launching a commemorative Singapore-India stamp set.
