If you haven’t heard by now, Theresa Goh and Yip Pin Xiu have done Singapore proud with their achievements at the Rio 2016 Paralympics. After competing in four editions of the games, 29-year-old Goh finally won a medal when she came in third for the 100m breaststroke SB4 final. It was a sweet victory for the swimmer, who was born with spina bifida and is paralysed from the waist down — she had suffered near misses previously.
As for 24-year-old Yip, who has muscular dystrophy, she clinched the gold medal in the 100m backstroke S2 final and set a new world record of 2min 7.09s.
So Lego paid tribute to both para-swimmers with mini figurines created in their likeness.
The toy company had also congratulated Olympic gold medallist Joseph Schooling when he won the 100m butterfly in August.
