Laneway Festival in Singapore next year is going to be freaking amazing

The fourth edition of successful indie music extravaganza Laneway Festival is happening on Jan. 24, 2014, and it’s going to feature three world-class — if we may say so ourselves — Singaporean acts.

Playing on one of the two main stages will be experimental rock band The Observatory, who’re spending the rest of this year touring Asia (watch their latest video, an excerpt for their Manila gig, below), while members of local music collective Syndicate, Gema and Vanessa Fernandez (listen to her music below), will share the third stage — a new Laneway fixture — with the likes of Jagwar Ma and Jamie xx.

Other international indie acts performing at Laneway next year include Chvrches, Daughter and Haim.

A post on STCommunities reveals Laneway co-founder and curator Danny Rogers is heartened by the selection of Singaporean artists, whom he describes as “truly worthy of their position” in what’s already an incredible lineup and having an “international feel”. He adds it’s possible they may even be invited to play at overseas editions of the festival.

The Laneway Festival in Singapore next year will be held at The Meadow, Gardens by the Bay. Tickets are selling on Sistic for SGD150.
