Photos of an unclothed woman on the Pioneer MRT station platform appeared on social media this morning, prompting Singaporeans to finally admit our stations are just way too hot.
According to TODAY, the 35-year-old woman was arrested last night under the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) Act after the cops were called in for help around 10:30pm. She would have been referred to a medical practitioner for examination at a psychiatric institution.
Both the woman’s identity, country of origin and the photographer who took the images remain a mystery, but Patrick Tan posted the full-length snapshots from an unknown source on Facebook. Both of them depict the totally nude woman standing near a pile of clothing at her feet – which makes us think that she took her kit off when she got to the station, as opposed to arriving in that state. She did leave a sock on though, which is better than nothing.
One picture shows her leaning against fully-dressed man, wrapping her arms around him, as a middle-aged SMRT employee averts her eyes. Who is the man? Was she hugging him or was he trying to help her stand up? Will the SMRT auntie turn in her resignation after this awkward moment? “I’m too old for this shit,” we imagine the employee muttering to herself.
In the other photo, the same undressed woman is definitely standing on her own two-feet. But this time she is grasping the man by his wrists while the auntie appears to be holding a towel around her body, perhaps in an attempt to spare the woman further exposure, and likely to spare her fellow passengers from having to crane their necks to look away.
The internet has already responded with timely memes, capitalizing on Donald Trump’s upcoming visit to Singapore as well as his reputation as lecher-in-chief.
SMRT could not be reached for comment, but we’d like to thank them in advance for turning up the air conditioning so the rest of us can enjoy a decent commute.
Editor’s Note: Article updated to reflect that the woman was arrested by the police last night.
