Ku De Ta is now Ce La Vi

In the great tradition of incorrectly spelling French words, dining establishment Ku De Ta on the rooftop of Marina Bay Sands will now be called Ce La Vi.

New owners L Capital Asia — part of the LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton group — says the restaurant-bar-nightclub aims to become  “the international titan of lifestyle and sophisticated hedonism” and will be opening branches across the globe.

It will take up the top three floors of Hong Kong’s California Tower in Lan Kwai Fong this July, while the Dubai and Taipei outlets are already in the works.

“We will only select locations that are the most coveted spot in the city, nothing less than a commanding presence with breathtaking panoramic views in the world’s lifestyle capitals,” said Ravi Thakran, L Capital Asia managing partner.

The Singapore outlet will undergo renovation and employ new kitchen stars like executive chef Frederic Faucheux (he opened Nobu outlet in Cape Town), executive pastry chef Jason Licker (crowned ‘Iron Chef Thailand’ last year), and Swedish mixologist Knut Randhem.

DJ Joshua Pillai is head of entertainment, with New York’s DJ Sinbad joining the 14 local DJs in the team.
