A 34-year-old man went out of his way to show kindness to a 65-year-old man, even after the latter crashed into his car. The incident, recounted by Member of Parliament for MacPherson Tin Pei Ling on Facebook, garnered online praise for Alvin Ho’s good deed.
It all started with Ho driving to work. On the way to his office, his car was hit by another vehicle, and when the elderly man got out of the car to apologize, Ho discovered that the man was suffering from stage four cancer and had been on his way to see a doctor. He was feeling unwell and had unexpectedly blacked out for a moment while he was behind the wheel.
So Ho offered to send the man to the clinic and even waited around to make sure he was doing okay. Ho also guided the patient through the process and looked after him to ensure he got home safe.
According to Tin — who said Ho was an engineer, entrepreneur and fitness instructor — the pair “met as strangers but parted as friends”.
Netizens were full of praise for the altruistic actions of Ho, who responded by saying he was humbled by all the encouragement and well wishes.
The question left unanswered here — did the old man have to pay for the damages to Ho’s car? Hopefully not.
