21-year-old Samantha Yeo Xian Hui was doing well in school while battling kidney failure when she made the rash decision to hide her boyfriend from the police.
According to Channel NewsAsia, her boyfriend Desmond Lin Jiaqi was wanted for failing to attend court earlier this year — Yeo had hid him under her bed when the police came round to look for him at her house.
When Lin was discovered, Yeo had hit out at the police to prevent him from being handcuffed.
Yeo has been sentenced to 18 months probation.
