What do you get when you combine Makansutra, a company that celebrates and promotes food culture, with e2i (Employment and Employability Institute), a professional development company that celebrates and promotes work culture?
An expensive — but expansive — crasher on how to cook your favourite street food, eat it and make a business out of it.
Called Street Food Pro 360, the 30-hour course aims to promote and preserve the local street food culture by teaching it to the younger generation of cooks.
It will include operations and management classes, as well as street food and cooking demonstrations, held over a 10-day period.
Besides local food stalwarts such as Makansutra’s chief executive K.F. Seetoh, master chefs Hooi Kak Wai and Sin Leong (half of the “Four Heavenly Kings”), establishments like Alhambra Satay, Casuarina Curry Restaurant, Fatty Ox Hong Kong Kitchen, Tian Tian Lai Fried Hokkien Mee and Wee Nam Kee Chicken Rice will also have a hand in shaping your gastronomic journey.

Singaporeans and permanent residents can enjoy a 90 percent off the original programme fee of $3000, courtesy of e2i. Applications are open from now till the end of September. The course will be conducted in the last quarter of the year, prior kitchen knowledge not required.
