Keep your resolution to get fit with 30-minute lunch workouts at this new martial arts gym

The newest martial arts school in town resides at Clarke Quay, and it offers a variety of Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes across all levels. Anyone, from complete noobs to competitive fighters, can engage in training sessions at FaMA (Fitness and Martial Arts).

And in case you’re already faltering in your New Year’s resolution to get/keep fit, this new class could save you from beating yourself up the rest of the year. FaMA QuickFit is an express 30-minute exercise sesh for people working in the vicinity who wanna squeeze in a sweat-inducing workout during lunch break. It’s also basically for those who can’t wake up early enough and complain about being too tired in the evenings to move a muscle (you know who you are).

The class is a mix of HIIT (high intensity interval training) and body weight exercises designed to get your heart rate up and accelerate your metabolic rate, ensuring you get a metabolism boost for up to 48 hours (which means your body keeps working even after you’ve left the gym). Should you feel like giving it a go, the fitness centre also offers complimentary towel service, shower facilities and a relaxation area with free beverages for members.

FaMA QuickFit classes are on Tues & Thurs, noon-12.30pm at FaMA, #02-03 Clarke Quay, 3A River Valley Rd. Monthly packages start from $150; daily pass packages start from $30/day.
