Jurong East MRT dumper identified as 72-year-old Singaporean

The Singapore Police Force (SPF) has identified the man spotted taking a dump near Jurong East MRT station on Aug. 22, as a 72-year-old Singaporean.

According to a statement made by both SPF and the National Environmental Agency (NEA), the man had already left the scene when officers arrived. The matter has since been referred to NEA for further investigation.

The NEA stated that they’ve already taken 528 enforcement actions against offenders found committing similar acts of social irresponsibility in between January and July this year.

Earlier in August, photos of a woman defecating at Holland Village MRT station in full view of passersby went viral, prompting the police to identify her: a 34-year-old Singaporean said to be of unsound mind.
