June school holidays bring reduced ERP rates and VEP operating hours

The June school holidays are coming, and that means more annoying kids and teens hanging about the streets. But that’s okay because from May 30 to June 28, Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) rates and Vehicle Entry Permit (VEP) operating hours will be reduced.

Motorists will be glad to know that ERP rates at selected roads and expressways during certain time periods will be reduced by $1, except where the current ERP rate is $0.50. If the gantries are not listed in the table below, that means no reduction. Rates will revert back to normal (ie, expensive) from 29 June onwards.

VEP operating hours will also be ending earlier at 12pm on weekdays, instead of the usual 5pm — that means drivers of foreign-registered cars and motorbikes will not need to pay any fees for the day if they drive into Singapore after 12pm. On Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, VEP fees remain non-chargeable.
