The keen travelers among us would’ve already jotted down all the public holidays in 2018 since the government released the dates in April this year. But if you haven’t started planning your vacations yet, here’s an affordable option to make use of seven out of the 11 public holidays next year: Jetstar’s Ultimate Long Weekend Flight Package.
Granted, that means you probably won’t be around for celebrations with friends and families during these festive periods… but there’s always the year after next.
Returning for its second edition, the package costs S$2,018 (this price tag includes taxes, fees, and credit card booking fees) and includes 20kg checked baggage allowance for all seven return flights. Considering just one two-way flight to Europe or the United States on other airlines will set you back almost that much, this deal seems rather value-for-money — that is, if you don’t mind traveling on a budget carrier.
So if you’re all about low-cost vacations, start prepping your HR for the nine leave days you’ll have to take to travel on the weekends of Good Friday, Labor Day, Vesak Day, Hari Raya Puasa, National Day, Hari Raya Haji, and Deepavali. Destinations include Ho Chi Minh City, Bali, Bangkok, Taipei, Yangon, and two of the airline’s latest: Okinawa and Hat Yai.
The package is available on a first-come-first-served basis (and limited to four packages per customer), and the form to sign up will go live on Dec 11, 10am.
Editor’s note: This article was updated to remove the mention of Jetstar Airways (a separate entity from Jetstar Asia) as being ranked the worst carrier in the world in a survey this year.
