Things were dramatic inside Jalan Besar Stadium yesterday, with Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) condemning rivals and Singapore home boys LionsXII to a 3 – 2 defeat in the Malaysian Super League game.
But things were hot outside, too.
A number of JDT fans, who had gained possession of homeground tickets — possibly from their local friends — were refused entry after they were unable to provide Singaporean identification.
Upset, especially when crowd control staff started barricading them with a rope, the fans started screaming insults, with one calling the Singapore side — citizens, players, fans? — cowards.
Update: Five people — four men and a woman — were arrested that Tuesday night for disorderly conduct.
