52-year-old Lim Yew Hock was under the impression that the girl he procured sexual services from was 19 — but it turns out she was only 14 at that time.
Lim has since been sentenced to nine weeks in jail for obtaining the sexual services of an underaged prostitute, Channel NewsAsia reports.
The girl had only arrived in Singapore from Vietnam the day before meeting Lim who paid $300 to her pimp for her intimate services. They went to Lim’s house on Oct 15 last year and had sexual intercourse.
The offence only came to light later on when the victim lodged a police report as she wanted to quit the prostitution business.
In court, Lim was sentenced to seven weeks in jail for obtaining sexual services of a person under 18, and an additional two weeks for an unrelated charge of gaming in public.
