Jailed: Elderly man who molested teenage student he first met at church

63-year-old Wong Cheung Pok bumped into an old friend on the bus — a teenage student whom he had first met at church. Having not seen each other for several months, they started chatting and Wong invited the 18-year-old to his house for a drink.

Unfortunately, the invitation was for something more depraved — Wong molested his young guest in his home.

The man has since been sentenced to jail for seven months for using criminal force intending to outrage the modesty of a victim, Channel NewsAsia reports.

The two had bumped into each other on the evening of Apr 4 last year, while both were on their way home. The victim had gone to Wong’s house willingly, where Wong offered to give a massage — the teen had complained about tired legs after a badminton match earlier that day.

The massage however involved Wong touching the student’s feet, thighs and buttock area before pulling the victim’s shorts down and molesting him. The teen felt uncomfortable and tried to cover himself with his t-shirt and hands, but Wong pushed his hands away.

In court, the prosecution pushed for a jail term of nine months, citing Wong’s “deliberate engineering” of the offence. The District Judge gave him seven months instead, stating that the victim is not considered a vulnerable victim.
