His irrational hatred for Indian nationals ran so deep, he had no qualms about going postal on them multiple times.
On various occassions, Institute of Technical Education (ITE) student Razmy Abdul Rahim would target foreign workers of Indian origin to inflict violence upon them, TODAY reports. His resentment against them also stemmed from his dislike of the way they apparently eyed his mother and his girlfriend.
The earliest attacks took place in 2013, during his teenage days. Together with his friend, they ambushed a Bangladeshi construction worker and an Indian construction worker at Hougang Avenue 3.
The next year in March, Razmy wielded a penknife near a bus stop in the same area. An Indian construction worker standing near the bus stop — Kaspar John Xavier — saw Razmy’s weapon and left, afraid of what he’d do.
Xavier and three of his fellow Indian construction workers confronted both Razmy and his friend at the same bus stop a couple of days later. The workers asked them why they were acting aggressively the other day.
Razmy flew in a rage, assaulting the Indian men. The attack left one of them with a dislocated shoulder after being punched on the right cheek and right arm.
Razmy’s spate of violence didn’t stop there. Sometime in September 2014, he attacked a schoolmate who he claimed to be spreading rumours about him. Razmy used a bicycle chain, wrapping it around his left fist and punched the victim in the abdomen.
Considering his history of violence, he might be sentenced to reformative training.
